An update? Really?!

Alright, I admit it. I am a horrible blogger.

It's not that I object to blogging. I actually really like the idea of it. I just never ever do it. It's funny cause I've done loads of really awesome stuff this summer. I met some really interesting people, saw brilliant things, ate amazing food and drank some questionable drinks (I'm talking about Bloody Marys here... I just cannot like them). And I want to share that stuff. But I'm terrible at writing about it.

My new (academic) year's resolution is to endeavour to blog a little bit more than once every 6 months. I thought I'd include a weird panorama of the view from the rooftop of the place I stayed in New York to start things off. Great view I think you'll agree.

We were really lucky to go on a half day trip to a biology lab. We were using a really good microscope and this is an image of the folicle of a hair plucked from my head. I think it looks like a spider's leg.

About time I updated...

This is from a really fun Letterpress workshop I did back at the beginning of term. We were all allocated a number and had to produce a 2 colour print using wood and/or metal movable type.
I got number 8. I chose to go for a fairly predictable option and made an octopus. I liked him though... He's based on this little fella..
He's a blue ringed octopus and he's actually only as big as a golf ball. But he's really poisonous and has enough venom in him to kill 26 grown men in minutes. He's also the only octopus with venom that is harmful to humans.
I printed a layer of blue rings over the fluoro orange. I'll post the results when I get the cards back after Xmas.
